Empress in Flight

by REBECCA GRANT

Empress in Flight

This piece is a celebration of empowerment and freedom, focusing on the majestic, commanding presence of a butterfly in mid-air. The sweeping, regal lines and bold palettes are designed to create a “mobile art” experience that changes with every step you take. It is for those who want to feel their own strength and grace reflected in the fluid, shimmering motion of high-fashion silk.

A DESCRIPTION OF THE FABRIC:

Each scarf in this limited collection is a wearable masterpiece, meticulously crafted from the finest 100% premium Mulberry silk. Known as the "Queen of Fabrics," Mulberry silk is prized for its long, uniform fibres that create a surface of unparalleled smoothness and a natural, pearlescent lustre. This high-grade fabric is not only exceptionally soft against the skin but also hypoallergenic and breathable, naturally regulating your temperature to keep you cool in summer and warm in winter. Because the silk is so durable, it holds the vibrant colours of my paintings with incredible depth and clarity, ensuring the art remains as striking on the fabric as it is on the canvas.

HOW TO CARE AND PRESERVE YOUR SCARF

To preserve the beauty and longevity of your limited-edition piece, I recommend hand washing in lukewarm water with a mild, silk-friendly detergent. Avoid wringing or twisting the fabric; instead, gently press out excess water between a clean towel and lay it flat to dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight. For a crisp finish, use a steamer on a low setting rather than a traditional iron.

COMMISSIONS

Each painting has a story worth telling. If you would like a one-of-a-kind portrait from any of our collections, Rebecca takes on a small number of bespoke commissions each year. Each painting is made entirely to order, using high-quality materials including 24ct gold leaf, silver, and mother of pearl.

Working directly with you, Rebecca captures every detail of your chosen subject — whether it’s the elegant lines of a yacht, the majesty of wildlife, or the beauty of landscapes. She brings the same attention to detail found throughout our collections, from the finest brushstrokes to the play of light and shadow.
